The Government Gateway is a critical part of the Government's plans for enabling e-Government. The Gateway offers citizens the opportunity to conduct sophisticated transactions with the public sector via a secure hub.
As more and more dealings with government are carried out over the internet, it is anticipated that the significance of the Gateway will rise and it will become a critical part of the national infrastructure.
